Best iPhone App for Real Estate

The Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Home Selection Assistant iPhone app allows you to take pictures, organize, and rank the homes you see while on-the-go.

With iPhone's built-in location finder, you can also learn about neighborhood information including data on local schools, nearby restaurants and shops, comparable home prices and more. And best of all, it's free!

I have tried them all (at least I've attempted to try them all) and BHG has finally created a tool that can be used by everyone. I even tested it today on a commercial space for lease... it worked great for finding demographics, nearby restaurants, and of course documenting photos/rating the space.

Kudos to BHG + OnBoard for working together to nail this new app!

hat tip to @respres for tipping me off to this app today: http://jeffturner.mobi/the-bhgreiphone-home-assistant-app-is-a-refre

I agree I think it's a nice tool for consumers, but until / unless it's mixed in with MLS access, I really think a major piece of the iphone for RE will be missing. I guess it's because there has to be a data via IDX via broker on the ground connection with each MLS - that's the reason we don't see more widespread apps with MLS on it? If I am an IDX company - iphone / BB / smart phone apps are my #1 priority to sell agents.

Brad, am I missing something? Why aren't more more IDX companies offering this? For that matter, why aren't more MLS companies offering an app just like they offer IDX services, focused at each agent, for $10 a month? To me they seem like the natural providers. Instead I find myself crunching the numbers, wondering if I could create one for my areas.

I agree that the IDX providers should be working to solve the mobile solution for Realtors. However, I also think that just having mobile search is not enough. I'd argue that Buyers need tools, resources, knowledge to help make decisions from the listings menu, not a new menu of the same dishes.
